The Jets’ Head Coach Makes Decision on Aaron Rodgers Playing in Preseason.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is poised to enter his 20th season in the NFL. Technically, this would be his 19th, as he sustained a season-ending Achilles tear during the first series of the 2023 season.

The Achilles tear held Rodgers out of the entire 2023 season, though reports indicated he was itching to return if the Jets were ready to make a playoff push. That was not the case, as Rodgers instead elected to not foot on the field.

Rodgers suffered a major injury and is 40 years old. Despite his ability to still play at a high level, the Jets are also not taking any chances. Jets head coach Robert Saleh has claimed that Rodgers will not see any play in preseason games.

According to Adam Schefter, “Jets HC Robert Saleh said that QB Aaron Rodgers, who is recovering from his Achilles injury, is unlikely to play this preseason.”
