An NFL analyst suggests the Eagles add a top-tier DE in 2025 to boost the pass rush.

The Philadelphia Eagles may consider adding defensive talent after the season. The 2025 draft may be the biggest boost to Vic Fangio’s defense.

Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report said that the Eagles may approach this by selecting Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter at No. 20 overall.

“The Eagles want to attack opposing quarterbacks in waves,” Sobleski wrote. Brandon Graham will retire next summer, while Josh Sweat and Zack Baun will be free agents.

Carter has 11 sacks, 9 passes defended, and 16 tackles for loss in two years. Positional versatility makes it clear why Fangio would want another chess piece for the unit.

Carter, Nolan Smith Jr., and Bryce Huff (10 sacks with the Jets last season) might offer the Eagles a deep, versatile rotation that can trouble defenses.
