Born on December 1, 1983, Rommel Asagwara, popularly known as Dr. Rommel, is an American-Nigerian physician, businessman, and actor. Dream Weight Botox Clinic is his creation, and it is based in the United States of America. He made an appearance on The Real Housewives of Lagos, a Nigerian television series, in 2023. On December 1, 1983, Asagwara was born in Lagos State, Nigeria. He later moved to France, where he lived for a portion of his early adult and teenage years. In 2014, he graduated from Louis Pasteur University, France, with a Doctor of Medicine. One of the Real Housewives of Lagos stars, Dr Rommel, has caused a buzz on social media over his comments about his co-star Toyin Lawani During a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Rommel gave fans an insight into his relationship with the celebrity designer Dr. Rommel spared no words as he heavily blasted his colleague, and Nigerians dropped their hot takes on the matter.
Rommel’s invitation to participate in Chude Jideonwo’s chat program was the beginning of it all. The renowned physician had a lot to say when asked about his friendship with Tiannah. Dr. Rommel described his celebrity designer colleague in a variety of colorful terms. He was impolite and uncultured, in his opinion. He continued by calling Lawani a bush woman with an empty skull. In his words,
“Toyin Lawani is the most uncouth, uncultured, local, and bush lady we have in Nigeria. Toyin doesn’t know how to spell her full name without somebody holding her hand. The skulls she carries—those empty skulls—that’s how her brain is empty.” In another snippet from the interview that went viral, Dr. Rommel claimed Tiannah was the mother of touts. However, he applauded her creativity in fashion but still bashed her for it. Toyin Lawani is the mother of Agberos. She’s a joke; she’s just a joke, a caricature. On one hand, I applaud her creativity in trying hard to please people and do Met Gala stuff, but just to sit out there and put balloons on dresses, thinking that you’re a designer? And saying all kinds of things without thinking? It demonstrates her skill level; she can not go any further, and I can not help her.”
Following the viral footage of Dr. Rommel insulting Toyin Lawani in an interview with Chude, some online users responded to the turmoil between the RHOL cast members.
Toyin Lawani, in defense, claimed that the doctor was attempting to “discredit my brand” with his statement. She also mentioned
“Fake doctor patronise him at your own risk. Lab Rat, with your butt fillers, you still have no blow. Egbere, na me u wan take blow abi. Is it by force to be your friend? Did I look like someone you could recruit to hate someone who didn’t offend me? No worries, I will show you that agbero you are so desperate to experience; ask your kleged colleague,” she wrote.
“I don’t look for people’s trouble until they look for mine, and everyone saw you do this to me on the show, insulting me because I didn’t want to join you. Just wait until we see you. I don’t talk too much.”
Lawani also tackled Chude Jideonwo, adding that she “regrets sharing my childhood rape experience with him.”.
