Transfer news: Chelsea give Napoli a fresh boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen to…

Chelsea handed fresh Victor Osimhen a transfer boost as agent ‘holds talks’ over deal.

Chelsea are gearing up for the new Premier League season under new manager Enzo Maresca. The Blues are on pre-season tour in the US but have had recent results to worry about. Recently, Chelsea lost to Celtic and drew with League One club Wrexham.

The Blues are still connected to many fresh acquisitions before the September 2 deadline of the summer transfer window. It’s unclear which players will be targets, given five new players have joined Stamford Bridge since the window started.

Football.london examines the latest Chelsea news and gossip from the past 24 hours. Chelsea have apparently received a boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen.

This summer, the Blues have been linked with a deal for the Napoli striker, whose future is uncertain. PSG has also shown interest in Osimhen.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal are willing to jump in and beat Chelsea to the acquisition of Osimhen this summer. However, the source suggests that the 25-year-old’s preference would be to sign for the Blues over the Gunners were he to go to the Premier League.

According to football.london, Osimhen has been associated with Chelsea for months and will remain rumored until he either inks a new deal or joins a new team.

The striker may have his heart set on a move to either Chelsea or PSG if the latest claims are to be believed, and if this is the case it should be a priority deal for the Blues to complete if a new striker is desired. Chelsea have reportedly joined the hunt to capture Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa this summer.

According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta, the Blues have been in contact with Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, with conversations being made in London regarding a prospective transfer. Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have all been credited with an interest in the winger.

Juventus are apparently willing to allow Chiesa to leave the Turin club on a permanent deal this summer with his contract set to expire in 2025.

Reported price tags have been cited at roughly €25million (£21million) to €30million (£25million). football.london says: Chelsea being linked with signing Federico Chiesa is not that shocking.

It’s plausible that Chelsea may indeed hold an interest in Chiesa, with negotiations among agents always a possibility for players who are obviously heading for the exit door.

However, considering the Blues’ multitude of alternatives in the wide forward area it’s not likely to be a priority at the present time.

Chelsea ended the 2023/24 Premier League season on a high, but it is never quiet at Stamford Bridge and the summer looks likely to be one full of news, with question marks over Mauricio Pochettino’s future at the club and lots of talk about moves.
