A former teammate supports Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets.
Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets, has drawn a lot of flak for a choice he made a few weeks ago. He chose to travel to Egypt for another event he had planned, rather than participating in the team’s required minicamp.
It goes without saying that Rodgers has turned into a player that the media loves to disparage. The forty-year-old superstar has been the subject of frequent unfavorable media coverage over the past few years. The people who really count have been incredibly supportive, even if the media has taken the narrative and run with it.
Robert Saleh, the head coach, even said he and Aaron Rodgers were “on the same page”. Another person who has stood up for his quarterback is Sauce Gardner.
Another former teammate has now supported and talked highly of Rodgers. Former Green Bay Packers teammate and current NFL analyst James Jones shared his opinions on the matter.
“There’s nothing wrong with missing two days if I’m four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, who has been with the Jets for the last two years at everything.” That’s a really valid point. Rodgers has visited a wide range of events that the media did not anticipate that he would.
He was working hard to rejoin the squad on the sidelines even throughout his recovery from the torn Achilles he sustained during the first offensive drive of the previous season. He has gone to events that he used to skip while he was a member of the Packers.
Rodgers has obviously given the Jets his best since being signed. It’s not the end of the world to miss one two-day camp and have another event.
If Rodgers decided to forego training camp, it would be a worthy tale of this caliber. He hasn’t even come close to doing that.
The future Hall of Famer can be defended by former teammates and other voices, but only one thing will silence the naysayers. At the end of the day, winning resolves all issues.
Everyone will move on from the delayed minicamp if Rodgers can take the New York team to victory going into the 2024 NFL season.
It’s obvious that it shouldn’t be as significant as it has grown to be, but Rodgers is accustomed to disproving his skeptics, and this season will be no exception.
