Update: The Commanders’ biggest star received praise for his outstanding performance.

Commanders: ‘Entirely Plausible’ Jahan Dotson Has a Breakout Year.

In his first two NFL seasons, wide receiver Jahan Dotson of the Washington Commanders has consistently contributed to the offense. Dotson has caught more than 35 passes, had more than 500 receiving yards, and scored 11 touchdowns in each.

Although it’s a promising beginning, many were hoping for more following his debut year. Despite a number of factors making the previous season difficult, Dotson now has Jayden Daniels tossing him the ball and has a strong run game to improve.

Every NFL team has a building block candidate on Bleacher Report, and there are requirements. The outlet selected Dotson as a solid future building component, and the player must be in the first year of their rookie contract and not have received a Pro Bowl or All-Pro accolade.

“One year from today, Washington undoubtedly is hoping we’ll be highlighting quarterback Jayden Daniels,” says Bleacher Report.

“At the moment, wideout Jahan Dotson is the obvious pick. Despite not producing as much as anticipated in 2023, the explosive receiver could have a breakout year with the return of coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and the departure of Curtis Samuel.”

Despite his youth, Dotson has already demonstrated his ability as a receiver, even with mediocre quarterbacking.

It is anticipated that Dotson will have a far better season than he had the previous year with Daniels. There’s suddenly a lot to work with when we add Kliff Kingsbury as coach, the bolstered offensive line, and Austin Ekeler joining Brian Robinson Jr. in the backfield.

Although using a receiver as a building block might seem strange, Dotson seems like a good fit given the criteria outlined by Bleacher Report—even though Daniels might have been the more obvious choice.

After two successful NFL seasons, Dotson is looking to elevate his game and become a significant weapon for the Commanders’ offense in his third season.
