Coach Dan Quinn stated on Wednesday that the Washington Commanders were unaware of the accusations of sexual assault against kicker Brandon McManus until last week.

On Sunday, the Commanders declared that McManus would be released. Six days prior to that revelation, on May 27, ESPN revealed that two women had filed a lawsuit accusing McManus of sexually abusing them on a foreign aircraft during the previous season, when the kicker was a Jacksonville Jaguar.
