Report: Trade rumors involving the Los Angeles Lakers could have an effect on the team and their top player.

Rumors regarding the Lakers trade: A new plan puts LeBron James’s prospects in jeopardy and leaves him furrowing at Rob Pelinka.

The Lakers’ summer roster decisions could have a significant effect on their future. It is very obvious that LeBron James’ team has to either acquire another superstar or add more depth to their lineup after failing to go past the first round.

With that, everyone is watching Rob Pelinka to see what strategies the general manager comes up with to help his team return to the race for the championship. A fresh plan involving the departure of the Lakers’ young star, Austin Reaves, has been presented, which may cause King James to scoff in the midst of all the rumors.

According to a recent rumor by Andy Bailey of Bleacher rumor, Pelinka may have an opportunity to complete a huge three-team trade with the Hawks and Raptors that would send superstar Trae Young to Los Angeles. The Lakers will have to give up most of their assets in exchange for that, though.

Pelinka will probably have to part with D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and a few more future draft picks in order to get Trae Young from Atlanta and Kelly Olynyk from Toronto. That’s essentially the whole group of young guys who carried them to the Conference Finals the previous season.

However, Rob Pelinka might find it impossible to ignore the Trae Young fit with LeBron and AD. Trae might be a great combination with LeBron because of his ability to get into the paint and find open shooters with beautiful passes. Trae’s shooting, which is already over 37% from beyond the arc and at a range that very few players in the league can match, will only get better when he plays with LeBron.

In the meanwhile, fans will enjoy seeing the pick and roll action between him and AD because of his amazing passing abilities. Trae was one of the league’s top playmakers this season, dishing up almost eleven assists. Thus, if the Lakers accept the reported offer, they will acquire an all-around talent and a true star.

Yes, having a player like Trae on the squad would be ideal for the Lakers and even LeBron. James might not want it to go the recommended route, though, as that would mean having to break up with his close friend Austin Reaves.

LeBron discussed how Austin Reaves has gained his trust over the years, particularly during the Lakers’ series against Memphis last year, in an edition of his podcast Mind The Game. Reaves was given the opportunity to lead the Lakers’ offense.”I really trusted Austin Reaves last year in the Memphis series,” stated LeBron.

Reaves scored 23 points against the Grizzlies in his playoff debut, a performance that catapulted him to new heights of fame and helped his team to a decisive win. Furthermore, LeBron stated that he encouraged Reaves to “win it for us” prior to the rookie player’s incredible fourth-quarter display.

LeBron thought he handed Reaves the upper hand in that move because it would greatly increase his confidence and benefit him later on, likening it to a chess move. And it succeeded admirably, as Reaves was instrumental in the Lakers’ trip to the West Finals.

Therefore, if Reaves is dealt away barely a year after earning LeBron’s trust and the team was beginning to click, it will undoubtedly annoy LeBron. Is Rob Pelinka right to take this trade into consideration, regardless of LeBron Jam’s performance?
