Update: The team will shortly receive a visit from one of Michigan’s best players.

Marco Jones, a West Coast edge rusher of outstanding caliber, has narrowed his college options to Michigan football, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Jones has traveled to Ann Arbor on multiple occasions; the most recent visits were for the spring game and an earlier May visit a few weeks back.

He intends to return by the end of the month to take another look, demonstrating how seriously he is taking the maize and blue. But he’ll be paying an official visit this time.

Jones told WolverinesWire, “I was just out there, and we had a pretty jam-packed schedule.” “My family and I had a great time on that trip and learned a lot.”

I think my relationship with the coaching staff is excellent, and I’m still getting to know them even better. Additionally, you might want to find out more about a few of the participants to get a sense of how they view things.

He is thrilled with how defensive line coach Lou Esposito sees him integrating into the defense, for example. He views him as a chess piece that he can maneuver around the defense, but that he can also retreat into coverage. This is a result of the Wink Martindale defense, which the Wolverines have used in one form or another for the previous three seasons.

Martindale is drawn to the prospect of working under a veteran NFL defensive coordinator, especially considering his background in the league, and they are beginning to build a strong rapport together.

Yes, it is undeniably rather alluring. It’s difficult to say no to that, Jones admitted. “There, the best of the best.” They’re leading every area when it comes to the coaching staff, the program, player development, and everything else. In my opinion, they can turn any player into a really good player.

Additionally, make them a truly decent person. Michigan is therefore in a terrific position, and I believe Coach Wink is doing a good job—clearly, he has done a fantastic job.

Additionally, we attended the spring game up there. Furthermore, it was a really interesting experience to watch him coach in action.

Overall, Jones finds the Michigan coaching staff to be more and more alluring. They’re not only about football, even though they live and breathe it, just like their forebears.

They have made it clear in their interactions with Jones that life is more than just sports and that they are available to serve as mentors off the field.

“They have different qualities as coaches where you could talk to them as like regular people—it’s not always just about football,” Jones added. “I think they’re a really elite coaching staff.”

“I think that’s a big plus because I’m the kind of guy that likes to be in relationships, so I really enjoy when we can just talk about anything.” Football is not always a topic that needs to be discussed nonstop. Thus, it’s unquestionably a positive thing that they have.

Jones is scheduled to visit Texas on June 6, Texas A&M on June 6, and Michigan on May 31. He intends to make his decision prior to his senior season, which is only two months away, and to commit at some point in the mid-to-late summer when his visits are over.

At the next level, he wants to be able to play baseball, which is something other colleges are offering. He has discussed it with the Wolverines’ brass, but he hasn’t yet had a meeting with any baseball staff members.

What more, though, is he seeking at this level? A campus where he feels at ease and where he can joke about with the coaching staff. Though he isn’t sure what he wants to study in college, for now he seems to be leaning toward business.

“It’s undeniably the rapport with the coaching staff, the academic component, and would I still be interested in going to that school if I wasn’t a sports player?” Said Jones.

It’s a simple perspective to adopt. I believe that if you don’t play sports and you don’t really enjoy something, it might not be the right place for you. Thus, I believe that had a significant role in my hiring.

Jones is a four-star player from Danville, California’s San Ramon Valley, and according to 247Sports, he is ranked No. 122 in the nation. In the state of California, he ranks as the No. 11 player and the 14th best edge rusher. That takes care of the Michigan part, but what about his other competitors? In them, what does he see?

Of course, Texas has a very effective program as well. Furthermore, virtually every school is comparable in the same ways: for example, they have excellent development at my position and a strong coaching staff. However, three fairly historic coaches are Coach P.K., Coach Sark, and Coach Nanseen. That means a lot to me as well.

“Coach Tony Jerod-Eddie and Coach Minter are like scientists.” They are quite knowledgeable. They’ve been reaching out to me a lot for recruitment, and I think we get along great.

Additionally, I think it’s simple to converse with them about baseball, football, and other such topics. They also have an excellent baseball program.
