Unbelievable: A former NBA legend become Los Angeles Lakers head coach…

The NBA legend is open about JJ Redick becoming the Lakers’ coach.

It’s looking more and more likely by the day that JJ Redick will take over as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Redick was an NBA player for the Dallas Mavericks just three years ago. It would be his first time ever coaching a team of any kind, the Lakers.

Carmelo Anthony and Baron Davis are two former NBA players who are unsure if the prospective employment would be successful.

In the most recent installment of Carmelo Anthony’s 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, the two former NBA All-Stars talked about whether or not former players with no coaching experience, such as JJ Redick, could take over as head coach right away.

Baron Davis expressed his belief that a former athlete can transition seamlessly into coaching. “Because, you know what I mean, that’s also another gift of the way they talked and performed. or their perception of the match.

Therefore, I’m more in favor of including someone who played before learning on the job. You will, at minimum, get knowledge of that person’s culture and what they wish to contribute.

Like Ty Lue of the Los Angeles Clippers, many other former players turned coach and spent years on the bench.

Redick will have gone straight to head coach right away, but Carmelo and Davis think it can work. Carmelo does, however, also err on the side of caution.

“It’s a f**k,” Carmelo declared. “I mean, it doesn’t work out very often. Guys who have transitioned straight from playing to coaching are a good example of this.

You should see how quickly Jason Kidd left us and moved to Brooklyn. Four months prior, Derrick Fisher was my head coach and I had recently played against him. Do you understand what I mean? It resembled those kinds of circumstances that, for whatever reason, haven’t worked out.”

Whether JJ Redick joins the Los Angeles Lakers as their next head coach is still up in the air, but it will undoubtedly be the most closely watched coaching job in the NBA.
