The Chicago Bears held their third open-to-the-media voluntary practice of organized team activities on Thursday.
At this stage of the offseason, the defense undoubtedly looks to be ahead of the attack, which was to be expected. Which makes sense given that the offense is still getting used to Shane Waldron’s new scheme and they are in the third year of Matt Eberflus’ defense.
With the offense lacking two starting offensive lineman in Darnell Wright and Nate Davis and two starting wide receivers in Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, it is far too soon to begin overreacting to unpadded workouts in May.
That translated into a number of missed passes and ineffective red zone play during team exercises, according to the reporters present.
