Report: Aaron Rodgers is practicing without any limitations and “doing everything.”
The New York Jets were the NFL’s most talked-about club at this time last season and were set to make an appearance on Hard Knocks. After starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered an injury in the season’s opening game, things went horribly wrong for the team.
Now that he is back at practice, Rodgers is reportedly operating without limitations, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.Tuesday, Rapoport tweeted:
Since rupturing his Achilles tendon against the Buffalo Bills in September of last year, Rodgers has been itching to return to the field.
The Jets were unable to stay in the postseason race, despite his best efforts to return to the squad for a postseason run. Rodgers will be able to start over now that he is healthy.
Rodgers and the Jets had great hopes for the 2023 campaign. Many of the roster’s shortcomings became apparent as the season progressed without the quarterback. Joe Douglas, the general manager, has put a lot of effort into addressing those shortcomings so that the Jets will have a stronger roster by 2024.
The Jets’ offensive line was a big problem for them last season, and they will start four different players this time around.
Tyron Smith, an offensive tackle, and John Simpson, a guard, were acquired by the team in a deal for Morgan Moses. The Jets selected Olu Fashanu, a tackle prospect, in the first round of the draft, and Joe Tippman, a second-year center, is anticipated to start at center.
After the huge free agent acquisition of Allen Lazard failed to materialize last year, the organization also wanted to expand their wide receiver room. Mike Williams, a potent deep threat available in free agency, joined New York.
In the draft, New York also made a move, moving up to choose Western Kentucky product Malachi Corley in the third round. Star running back Breece Hall is still with the squad, as is No. 1 receiver Garrett Wilson.
When Rodgers rejoins the Jets, he will undoubtedly be pleased with what he sees. If he can stay healthy, the quarterback has shown a desire to work with several of the new players, and the Jets might enjoy the kind of season in 2024 that many had hoped they would have in 2023.
