The Chelsea directors have determined that they must bolster three positions come summertime.
Chelsea has determined which crucial areas they need to enhance in order to bolster their team during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea’s sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, have prioritized bringing in a forward, left back, and central defender this summer, according to the Telegraph.
It comes as no surprise that Chelsea wants to add a talented forward before the season ends. The Blues are in serious need of a consistent scorer since Nicolas Jackson has fallen short of expectations.
They need a talented striker who can lead the line for the Blues the following season and share the goal scoring load because they have relied too much on Cole Palmer this year.
Their pursuit of a left-back, meanwhile, is also expected. Marc Cucurella has not impressed since leaving Brighton & Hove Albion for a large sum of money.
Chelsea needs to add more talent to their left-back lineup because Ben Chilwell is now the only dependable player on the team. Since Ian Maatsen is anticipated to be traded permanently at the end of the current campaign, the Blues should make replacing Cucurella a top priority.
In terms of center defense, Chelsea will have to find a replacement for Thiago Silva, who will be available as a free agent in the summer. The loss of the Brazilian, who has been a vital member of the Blues, would undoubtedly leave a huge void in the back four.
Chelsea’s summer transfer window will need to fill that void. Their top priority seems to be signing a dependable central defender who can assist them strengthen their defense.
It would be intriguing to watch if Chelsea can resolve all of these issues in the summer transfer window and return to full strength the following year.
