The Georgia Bulldogs are the hottest club in the nation and boast the finest hitter in collegiate baseball. Georgia has won the last three SEC series. A week ago, the Dawgs defeated Vanderbilt, and last week, they traveled to defeat No. 14 South Carolina.
Charlie Condon, an outfielder and infielder for Georgia, tops the nation in both batting average (.454) and home runs (34). In college baseball, Condon is assembling a historic season that will live on in the annals of time. Georgia’s final regular season series matchup is with the Florida Gators.
With a 16-11 record, Georgia presently holds the fifth-best record in the SEC. The Bulldogs are aiming to host a super regional after playing one of the most difficult schedules in the nation. Georgia’s RPI ranking lends credence to the Bulldogs’ argument for serving as the host of the super regional.
Let’s look at the RPI rankings for the top 10 teams in the nation (based on games played through May 12).
