WWE Backlash 2024 is just a few short days away, with the card finalized and France ready up for their very first Premium Live Event.

Despite the match card not presenting a wealth of surprises on paper, it seems likely that WWE would try and have a few huge moments up their sleeve to send the crowd in Lyon home satisfied.

What that could be exactly? Well, there’s certainly more than a handful of possibilities – particularly in relation to potential surprise debuts from stars both currently listed on the WWE roster and others who are not.

So with that said let’s take a look at seven potential big WWE surprises for Backlash 2024. John Cena turning up unannounced to WWE events is something that simply can never be ruled out.

Whether its Monday Night Raw, WrestleMania 40 or a year ago at Money in the Bank in London, Cena enjoys rocking up and delivering a crowd the a moment to remember.

While that would be enough to merit him a spot on our list, there has been a huge piece of evidence indicating Cena could well be showing up at Backlash to meet the French fans.

That being Cena himself has been captured out and about on the streets of Nice, France – casually having a coffee just days before of WWE’s huge event in Lyon.

While this doesn’t ensure Cena’s participation, the timing is almost too weird to not be premeditated. The only issue is will Cena also pitch for a WrestleMania to come to France while he’s at it?
