Chelsea XI against Everton: confirmed team news, expected lineup, and injury news for the Premier League today.
Chelsea will be missing Axel Disasi and Enzo Fernandez for today’s Premier League showdown with Everton. The trio take Mauricio Pochettino’s list of possible absentees to 11, having joined Raheem Sterling and Robert Sanchez, both sick, in hope of recuperating in time for Monday’s fixture.
Disasi, who had never missed a game through injury before joining Chelsea, has not trained since the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United, and neither has Fernandez.
Ben Chilwell is in “partial team training” and may be fit for a position on the bench. Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, and Lesley Ugochukwu stay out injured. Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic will continue despite his decreasing condition.
Malo Gusto is likely to return after being rested on Sunday, and he joins a back four with Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, and Marc Cucurella, the only senior defenders available.
With Fernandez absent, Moises Caicedo will pair Conor Gallagher at the base of midfield. Chelsea may then play an attacking front four of Cole Palmer, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson. Sterling, who has not started any of the last three games, might be drafted in if he recovers from illness.
