The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes Signs a New Multi-Year Deal With WWE.
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes recently sat down with Justin Walker.
When questioned if he still expected to retire from in-ring competition when he was 40, The American Nightmare said that’s no longer the case due to his just signing a new deal with the organization that runs until his 40th birthday.
“I can tell you 40 is out of the question. Just because, and not to give you a scoop, it was widely publicized, but I did sign a new contract with WWE,” Cody Rhodes confirmed.
“And it extends beyond my 40th birthday. However, I will add that the plan is still, when it’s time to walk out, to step out without it being a terrible process just because I saw my dad as an old man wrestling.
“And he loved it; he enjoyed it, but as his son, it was hard to see. My daughter, she’s two going on three here shortly. There does have to be a time, just as he did with us, where I have to be home all the time and be there with her.
So it’s not 40 anymore, but I’ll change the number. Plus, I hit this prime run late in the game. I often forget that I’m almost 40, but yeah.”
Cody Rhodes is currently 38 years old. So, his new WWE contract will certainly run for three years or more. What do you make of Cody Rhodes’ comments? Are you thrilled to know The American Nightmare has locked down with WWE? Let us know your thoughts by sounding out in the comments area below.
