Update: Michigan prepares to manufacture a second vodka using locally grown fruit…

Michigan brands link up to make a second vodka taste coupled with locally sourced fruit

Two Michigan firms are partnering again on a new drink that incorporates locally grown fruits and locally distilled alcohol.

Triple Jam Vodka is the second product cooperation from Armada-based Blake’s Hard Cider and Gypsy Spirits, based in Petoskey. Last August, the two Michigan firms teamed up and made apple pie vodka laced with locally grown apples and a hint of cinnamon.

The manufacturers tout this new vodka taste as a “juicy, jam-packed, berry libation” developed for “Michigan-made celebrations.” It’s $24.95 for a 750-milliliter bottle. You may buy it at Blake’s Orchard & Cider Mill and alcohol merchants in Michigan.

The freshly produced vodka is infused with local and ripe flavors of strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry, with a touch of apple, according to a news release.

Triple Jam Vodka is also described as having a “berry burst followed by a smooth finish.”“We’re excited to partner with our friends at Gypsy Spirits to bring the flavors of Triple Jam to Michigan’s cocktail and spirits lovers,” said Andrew Blake, founder of Blake’s Hard Cider, in a news release. “This vodka mixes our excellent, genuine fruit tastes with their masterful distilling for a distinctly Michigan experience.”

According to a news release, the new vodka was inspired by Blake’s Triple Jam Hard Cider product, a 6.5% ABV semi-sweet cider created with real berries, and also a partnership made with spirits from Gypsy.

Next month, Blake’s will celebrate Triple Jam. A Berry Bash House Party takes place on April 13 at Blake’s Event Tent and Tasting Room in Armada. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and contains a commemorative glass, a live DJ, house party games, and classic video games. Tickets are $10 and are available at blakeshardcider.com.
