Dallas Cowboys Ex ready for retirement…

The Dallas Cowboys Ex Announces Retirement With an Amazing Quote, stating, ‘Game Can’t Love You Back!’

Running back Bo Scarbrough, a 2018 seventh-round selection by the Dallas Cowboys, formally declared his retirement from professional football on Friday.

Bo Scarbrough may be an unfamiliar name to some NFL fans, but some may be more familiar now. Scarbrough, a seventh-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2018, formally declared his retirement from professional football on Friday and offered an all-time quote in the process.

“You can love this game all you want. But at the end of the day, the game can’t love you back because it’s not a person; it’s a ball,” Scarbrough said in a United Football League press release. “I have so much respect for the people still playing. And when it’s your time, you’ll know it’s your time.”

Despite a strong collegiate career at Alabama that included two national titles, Scarbrough never found his footing at the NFL level.

The Cowboys released him soon before the 2018 season began, and he would bounce around the league from there. After leaving Dallas, Scarbrough had time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks (twice), Detroit Lions, and Las Vegas Raiders.

In seven regular-season games, six with Detroit and one with Seattle, Scarbrough ran for 408 yards and a touchdown while averaging 4.3 yards per carry.

Following his tenure in the NFL, Scarbrough returned to his native state of Alabama to join the United States Football League’s Birmingham Stallions. He subsequently proceeded to help the Stallions win back-to-back USFL titles but fought with injuries along the way.

The Stallions then re-acquired Scarborough in the seventh round of the UFL dispersal draft following the merger between the USFL and XFL.

“We were lucky to have Bo as a part of our football family; he is a champion on and off the field,” UFL Head of Football Operations Daryl Johnston stated. “He is an outstanding representative of his community and the state of Alabama. We wish him the utmost best on his retirement and hope he will be successful using his passion for the game in the next chapter of his journey.”
