The Eagles agree to terms with Brandon Graham on a 1-year deal.
What an excellent start to the weekend as the Eagles announced on Saturday that they had agreed to terms with Brandon Graham on a one-year contract extension for the 2024 season, assuring that the defensive end would be back for a franchise-record 15th season.
“I’m happy to stay here and finish out my career,” Graham stated on the phone. “My career is a big testament to the organization.”
One of the most beloved players of this generation, the team’s first-round draft pick in 2010, sealed his legacy with the strip-sack of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII to help deliver the first Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia in the 2017 season.
This previous year, Graham set the franchise record for most regular-season games played with 195. He will surpass Pro Football Hall of Famer Chuck Bednarik by playing in his 15th season with the Eagles.
Here’s a peek at some of BG’s other remarkable accomplishments:
Owns the 4th-most sacks (73.0) in franchise history, behind Reggie White (124.0, 1985–92), Trent Cole (85.5, 2005–14), and Clyde Simmons (76.0, 1986–93). Leads the Eagles with 44.0 sacks since 2017.
Appeared in all 17 games in 2023… I posted 16 tackles (11 solo), 3.0 sacks, 6 QB hits, and 30 QB pressures.
A critical element of an Eagles defense that progressed to Super Bowl LVII in 2022… He concluded the year with double-digit sacks (11.0) for the first time in his career at age 34 during his 13th NFL campaign.
Nominated as the Eagles’ 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee… The award is considered the NFL’s most prestigious distinction and acknowledges players who have displayed greatness on the field as well as a commitment to touch the lives of people in their community.
