Breaking: Los Angeles Rams Resign Star Offensive Lineman To Huge, Multi-Year Deal
The Los Angeles Rams exceeded nearly everyone’s expectations by finishing 2nd in the NFC West and securing a playoff spot as the 6th seed.
Although the Rams suffered a close defeat to the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card Round, they demonstrated their strength in the NFC, even in a season focused on rebuilding. Now, they have re-signed a core offensive lineman back to their team, reports Jordan Schultz.
Last year, despite losing Andrew Whitworth two years ago to retirement and having a largely makeshift offensive line that included just one starter from their’2021 Super Bowl triumph (right tackle Rob Havenstein), the Rams’ offensive line held up pretty well for the majority of the season, in front of yet again impressive former 1st overall pick, Matthew Stafford.
Tieing up their now-star guard, who had a breakout year after being traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he was a borderline starter, all the way to LA, gives Sean McVay’s side, who once again will not attend the NFL Combine, more assurances in keeping strong the interior of their offensive line, which currently has 2nd round 2023 draft pick Steve Avila, Dotson, and soon-to-be free agent Coleman Shelton.
Now, we shall see if the Los Angeles Rams are able to replace Shelton and if they can build upon the already hefty momentum they started this year to go farther into the playoffs.
