A Sheboygan Packers fan joins the Fan Hall of Fame after years of game ventures.

GREEN BAY (WLUK) The 26th member of the Packers Fan Hall of Fame is a Sheboygan man who has been expressing his love for green and gold to tourists all around the world for 36 years.

Dan “Bogie” Bogenschuetz is a lifelong Green Bay Packers supporter and has been attending games since the mid-60s.

“I remember when the season was over, they used to pile the snow up against the rails. We could go on the field after the game by sliding down the hills, and we used to climb the goal posts. Those were the happy days. Don’t try and do it now,” Bogenschuetz remarked as he got his award at a ceremony Monday.

Since 1987, Bogenschuetz has organized group visits to home and away Packers games. He began off by taking family and friends, and a few years later, he was organizing motor coach trips to both home and away games, taking as many as 320 people. Around the year 2000, Dan began to plan flights, where he flies between 56 and 110 people to games. Dan and his fellow Packers backers have traveled to 26 different cities. In 2022, Dan took a group of eight to London for the Packers/Giants game.

“I remember the time I slept outside in Minnesota for three days and two nights just to get 320 Packer tickets, and the next year I became a Vikings season ticket holder and a Lions season ticket holder just to get my 320 Packer tickets every year to go up there, and then I would donate the other tickets to the Boys and Girls Clubs from those states,” Bogenschuetz said. This past year, Bogenschuetz said it was the first time he had a third generation join him on travel.
