What Do Early Betting Lines Mean for Georgia Football?

The Georgia Bulldogs have already seen a load of lines put on their impending 2024 games. But what does it mean for the program moving forward?

As the offseason marches on, the building anticipation of the 2024 season has led to some bookies already setting odds on a few games. As well as favorites to win the national crown. But fans and gamblers alike may notice one thing in particular about the Georgia Bulldogs.

Along with being the odds-on favorites to win the national championship game, the Bulldogs look to be favored in each of their most daunting meetings of the season. These contests include the team’s games versus Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss. As well as a battle against the Clemson Tigers in Atlanta to open the season.

What makes this such an incredible performance is that all four of those matchups will likely be against top-15 teams and will all be played away from Athens, with three out of the four being road games.

While the odds being so high in the Bulldogs’ favor is astounding, it should not come as a shock. After all, the Bulldogs were three points away from their third straight postseason trip last season and will be returning their starting quarterback, Carson Beck. But these odds may signal something bigger for the Dawgs moving forward.

The Bulldogs’ favorability by oddsmakers in next year’s schedule seems to signal that Georgia has become the dominant program in college football. While the Dawgs have been favored in practically all their games over the past two seasons, the fact that they are favored against such dangerous opponents on the road demonstrates how much faith oddsmakers and experts have in this team.

Kirby Smart and his team undoubtedly have big expectations for themselves moving into the 2024 season. But the current odds in the Bulldogs’ favor reveal that, for the time being, the Bulldogs are seen as the most dominant team in college football.
