Even if the Serie A team does not want to sell, Newcastle still has the option of signing Eduardo at Atalanta. Conor Gallagher could be available while Chelsea takes care of its own financial and environmental issues. Selling Armando Broja, who is said to be worth £50 million, is another way to accomplish that. However, Wolves, West Ham, and Fulham would find the price too high.
Similar to Gallagher, Broja is considered pure profit for the Bridge Money guys because he was cut from the youth team. The hefty cost resulted from Manchester United having to spend £64 million for their similarly goal-phobic striker, Rasmus Højlund.
Levi Colwill, whom Liverpool may consider to address their injury issues across the defensive line, is another pure profit sell. Trevoh Chalobah, whom Fulham is interested in loaning, appears more likely to leave. Speaking of sell-to-buy, there’s talk that Arsenal wants to acquire Bruno Guimarães, a move that would not sit well on Tyneside. Additionally, Xavi Simons of PSG, as Mikel Arteta, looks to update his team as much as possible.
In the summer, those moves seem more plausible, but what about this one? Similar to Jordan Henderson, Karim Benzema is rumored to be dissatisfied with his life in the Saudi Pro League and may be available in January.
Will he forgo his current salary and join the Arsenal revolution, just like Hendo did? That would undoubtedly be incredibly thrilling.
Chelsea is also intrigued by the possibility of becoming this month’s wildcard entry into the Premier League. Now that Ivan Toney has expressed interest in joining a major club, is that deal more realistic than his £80 million request?
Meanwhile, winger Andrés Barrenetxea of Real Sociedad is a target for both Tottenham and Arsenal. For the Gunners, Barrenetxea is an either-or replacement for Simons, who is presently out injured.
